Georgetown, DE – After losing four of their last five to conclude the regular season, Sussex Central was the ideal opponent for Sussex Tech. The Ravens entered Monday owning a five game win streak against the Golden Knights. Thanks to a 3-2 playoff win, make it six straight for Tech over Central.
It was Central that started the game with the early momentum as Treyvell Toppin hit a two out solo home run over the left centerfield wall for a 1-0 Golden Knights lead. Later in the first with runners on the corners, Deron Doherty got in a run down between first and second long enough to allow Austin Littleton to score the second run for Central.
The lead did not last long, the first three Tech batters reached base in the bottom of the first. Colin Bergh’s RBI groundout brought home Luke Oliphant. The Ravens tied it when the next batter, Kyle Lux beat out a grounder. Justin Hill scored.
The win puts Sussex Tech into a second round match-up on Tuesday, May 24 at Smyrna
